Leo Beenhakker has his starting XI, sport.pl has reported.
Ludovic Obraniak, after his great 2-goal debut against Greece, has replaced Ebi Smolarek on the wing. Can’t really argue with that. Obraniak is playing at a high level for Lille and looked great in the 45′ minutes he played vs. Greece. Read the rest of this entry »
My title of my previous blog was a bit off. It wasn’t just a wasted trip to Johannesburg, but a completely waste of a time to even head down to South Africa. My entire post could be the same as the one I posted on South Africa. Except, this time Roger Guerreiro came in at half-time and provided some type of offense, provided some type of attack. After all, they were only playing Iraq, and don’t get me wrong, I do think Iraq has come a long way from where their national team was just even a few years ago with the war going on and all, but, it’s Iraq!
By now, you would think the Polish national team would realize that each day they have together, they should make the best of it. A team that plays inconsistent and has so many problems so many times, one would think that a wake up call like the match against Northern Ireland would wake some players up? Apparently not. It’s Monday and I’m still depressed with what happened on Saturday with Gornik Zabrze, but, it’s finally hit me and i can now move on and just hope for the best. We’re a second division club and I have to accept that fact for at least one season. During the summer break,
Leo Beenhakker has named his squad for the latest summer fixtures against South Africa, Iraq and Greece. The game against South Africa will be played at the Orlando Stadium. It will be the final warm-up friendly for the Africans ahead of their opening Confederations Cup Group A clash at Ellis Park against Asian champions Iraq on June 14. However, There are a few squad changes that may cause upset in some – but there is one change which should not be a surprise to anyone.
No words can describe how I feel right now. Maybe that is why it has taken me so long to make a post. Maybe I just needed to reflect a little bit more on the disaster that was seen today in Belfast where Poland pretty much kissed good-bye any hopes of making the 2010 World Cup. Maybe I just needed some time because if I had posted earlier, my post wouldn’t make any sense and I’d most likely get in deep trouble with my bosses over the foul language.
