A disciplinarian with self-discipline needed
The inevitable happened of course and only those who believe in miracles could have expected anything else. After going down meekly 0-2 to the Czech Republic, Poland are now officially out of World Cup 2010 and they won’t play another competitive game until 2012. It is almost three years to the day when Poland kick off Euro 2012 in the new Warszawa stadium that is currently being built.
Leo Beenhakker has been fired, according to many media outlets out of Poland,
“The team will play against Northern Ireland for him.” ~ Leo Beenhakker.
My title of my previous blog was a bit off. It wasn’t just a wasted trip to Johannesburg, but a completely waste of a time to even head down to South Africa. My entire post could be the same as the one I posted on South Africa. Except, this time Roger Guerreiro came in at half-time and provided some type of offense, provided some type of attack. After all, they were only playing Iraq, and don’t get me wrong, I do think Iraq has come a long way from where their national team was just even a few years ago with the war going on and all, but, it’s Iraq!
Leo Beenhakker has named his squad for the latest summer fixtures against South Africa, Iraq and Greece. The game against South Africa will be played at the Orlando Stadium. It will be the final warm-up friendly for the Africans ahead of their opening Confederations Cup Group A clash at Ellis Park against Asian champions Iraq on June 14. However, There are a few squad changes that may cause upset in some – but there is one change which should not be a surprise to anyone.
