After the ridiculous training session, I believed Poland would gain little from facing the Czech Republic on Saturday. Seems I was wrong, as Poland did the unthinkable just like they did 2 years ago, defeat a world class team. Like against Portugal, Poland took control of the match early on and pressured until the score was 2:0 in favor for them. Indeed, something that you don’t see everyday from the Bialo-czerwoni, such as beautiful collective passing, and defending. Yes, the defense did have a good game. The Polish defense, which embarrassed itself in two major tournaments before made itself look like a brick wall at times. I was shocked and impressed as everyone when I witnessed this. This game truly was a flash of the past!
Back from the future (past?) with Poland

Polish footy dodgeball, anyone?
10 10 2008
Polish SOCA! LA sent me to Poland on Tuesday to report on the NT training session. I was lucky enough to get a lot closer to some of the real action then some other Polish journalists, and even got to chat up with some of the players. That being said, I have to be brutally honest, I wasn’t expecting much. I knew when I was told I’d be packing my bags for Wronki, Poland that it be nothing like a Brazilian NT training camp, or any of that sort. No it was… well different. Sometimes I was shocked, sometimes I was drunk, because well you have to be to appreciate the Polish NT.

Ekstraklasa star round-up!
10 10 2008
The Polish Ekstraklasa? Good? Bad? Everyone has their own opinions about it. It may not have the most wealthiest clubs in the world, nor the most expensive players. However, it does have that odd number of flair, technique, and some…erm skill. Most of this of course is through the foreign players playing in the Ekstraklasa, but don’t worry there is a fair share of Poles contributing also! Some may be more helpful then others.

Poles abroad: At least they played
5 10 2008
Usually our boys abroad rarely or never play, and when I say never, I mean never. Instead, they take the role of bench warmer, or hell, bench warmer in the stands… if they can find a good seat that is. Well, at least this time around they played and have made some sort of impact for their respective clubs. Artur Boruc seems to be regaining his superb EURO 08 form, and even guys like Mariusz Jop helped out their clubs. Not bad, especially since we will be facing the Czechs and Slovaks next week. Oh wait, I suppose I should say if we will be play them. The decision whether we still stay in the World Cup qualifiers is to be revealed tomorrow!

PZPN: Shit happends, deal with it
3 10 2008
As some of you have already known, the PZPN has been stirring up trouble again. Basically the Polish government has become fed up with the corrupt BS that happens in the PZPN, and they tried to do something about it. By taking away presidential power from Michal Listkiewicz, and installing their own admin they have broken FIFA/UEFA rules. Now the two head football federations are threatening that the government give Mr. Listkiewicz his power back, or basically were *****.
